MATHILDE ACAR

I am Mathilde Acar, a third year Interior Architecture & Design student at the CAD in Brussels. The designs on this online portfolio are an assembly of the last  years, this to display my ideas.

 

I always felt that I wasn’t able to express myself fully with words; yet, by studying interior architecture and design I found a way to be more expressive. I love art and spending time in museums, art galleries and exhibitions to discover artists and their way to express their emotions. 

I love colours, shapes and compositions. For me, they can be more striking than words. I’m fond of making colour combinations, arranging flowers and admiring details. 

As I have an eye for details, I always try my very best to attain the final result as I pictured it originally. 

 

Due to my rather untraditional high school career, I learned how to adapt to new environments rapidly and to be independent. At my boarding school, I learned to be more punctual and disciplined. Besides learning how to express myself by creating interiors & designs, my education at CAD Brussels has also taught me to be more critical and to hold on to who I am. Personal preferences in designs are highly recognized; yet, you have to work really hard to achieve your goal and to persevere. 

 

Later on, I’d love to create beautiful interiors for homes but also hotels, shops, restaurants, galleries… and integrating art. In my opinion, art is what brings all elements of the interior together. An interior should be built whilst holding artistic tones in mind. I believe that art is something very important to an interior. While an interior needs to be considered as an artwork itself.
